Our second creation from The Art House project celebrates Harry Styles’ release of single Sweet Creature from his debut solo album. A nod to Harry’s signature style and his love for garish colour and print, the jacket features the track title, entwined with pink roses and flowers.
After five top 10 albums, four worldwide tours and several awards as one fifth of boyband One Direction, Harry Styles is certainly well practiced in the music industry. So well practiced, that in June 2016, after much speculation about the band ‘splitting up’ he signed as a solo artist to label Columbia Records.
His debut solo single Sign of The Times charted at number 1 in the UK singles chart, the video also scoring him a Brit Award. In between launching this hectic solo career, Styles also found time to make his acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk.
Widely known for his Northern roots, quirky suits and his 23.3m Instagram followers, the heart-throb is usually marooned by a mob of screaming teenage girls. But we have a suspicion that his new music has also attracted a slightly different audience this time around, with it’s ediger tones and ‘grown-up’ lyrics.
The album, self named: Harry Styles is a blend of ballards, soft rock and Britpop, rolled into one. Critics have compared the sounds to that of David Bowie, Stereophonics and Justin Timberlake, his lyrics are meaningful, romantic and reminiscent of Drake’s emotional range.
The release of rock-ballad Sign of The Times was followed by the second release single Ever Since New York, rumored to be about Harry's former flame Taylor Swift. The third track to be released from the album is titled Sweet Creature - and is a huge favourite here at BODA SKINS. Our creative team decided to appoint Artist Sara Sammakia to customize one of our Classic Bikers for Harry to celebrate the single release. This project is the beginnings of our personalisation service, The Art House, whereby customers will have the opportunity of personalisation to our signature pieces and own something totally unique.
The single, written with Kid Harpoon (who has previously worked with Florence and The Machine and Jessie Ware), inspired Sara to emblazon the back of the Classic Biker jacket with pink toned climbing florals. If you look carefully you can make out the track title hidden amongst the painted botanicals.
